Latest update confirmed that Pattaya will have fireworks display for New Years on December 31 2022. The cancelation for fireworks display was not properly said why it was cancel. The New Year's Eve countdown on Khao San Road will not take place; however, the entertainment establishments in the well-known tourist destination will remain open as usual.
The decision was confirmed on Saturday by Sa-nga Ruangwatthanakul, president of the Khao San Road Business Operators Association.

The three-day New Year's celebration in Pattaya, which will be held at Bali Hai Pier from December 29 to 31, will still take place, but there won't be any fireworks this year. Street food vendors and concerts will continue to be available as usual.
On its Facebook page, Pattaya City Mayor Hotline, announced the annual fire show's cancellation yesterday. The urgent cancellation's cause was not made known.
However, some online users speculate that the restriction on fireworks was instituted in honor of Princess Bajrakitiyabha, who is still a patient at Bangkok's King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. In such cases, fireworks could be regarded inappropriate.
